M-SELEN Partners with Solomon Airlines to Enable Mobile Money Payments for Air Tickets

Posted on February 19, 2026 at 12:19 AM in New Services & Partnerships

Solomon Airlines Limited is pleased to announce a new partnership with M-SELEN, enabling customers to pay for airline tickets using the M-SELEN mobile money platform.

The service provides a safer and more convenient way for customers across the country to purchase tickets, without needing to travel to ticket offices or carry cash. This is expected to significantly improve access to air travel for provincial centres and outer island communities.

To purchase a ticket using M-SELEN, customers must first contact the Solomon Airlines ticketing office to confirm seat availability. Payment can then be made via the Buy Goods & Services option on M-SELEN by dialling *123# or using the M-SELEN mobile app. Once payment is completed, customers must confirm receipt of payment with the Solomon Airlines ticketing office to secure their seat.

Majidul Haque, Head of M-SELEN, said the partnership strengthens access to essential services through digital finance.“This initiative makes air travel payments more convenient and secure for Solomon Islanders, particularly those outside Honiara,” Mr. Haque said.

John Wopereis, Commercial Manager of Solomon Airlines Limited, welcomed the collaboration and said it improves customer payment flexibility while supporting internal efficiencies.“We’re excited to announce our partnership with M-SELEN. It’s a real win for everyone, passengers across the country will enjoy easier, more convenient ways to book and pay, while we tackle some of our longstanding challenges around payments and reach,” Mr. Wopereis said.

The partnership supports national efforts to modernise payment systems and expand digital financial inclusion across the Solomon Islands.
