Planning Christmas? Solomon Airlines says act now to avoid missing December cargo flights

• 4th and 11th December special cargo flights to operate from Brisbane to Honiara

Solomon Airlines is reminding Solomon Islanders to plan now for Christmas purchases offshore to be sure to take advantage of the airline’s two December cargo flights scheduled from Brisbane, Australia to Honiara on Friday 4th and 11th December 2020.

The flights are specially timed to allow delivery to the Solomon Islands from around the world well ahead of Christmas, including sufficient time for customs clearance, collection, and hiding gifts during the countdown to Christmas!

Solomon Airlines Manager Commercial Colin Sigimanu said the airline is encouraging early planning to ensure gifts and Christmas supplies can be delivered on time.

“The Christmas period is always busy and whilst our regular scheduled international flights are suspended, we have maintained dedicated cargo flights from Brisbane to Honiara on most Fridays to allow for continuity of transport for international goods,” he said.

“Schedules are subject to change, depending on utilisation of our international A320 aircraft, and in light of anticipated repatriation flights during the December period, we encourage people to make the most of our two confirmed cargo flights to transport goods in time for the festive period,” he said.

Customers wishing to transport goods on the 4th and 11th December cargo flights must have their packages delivered to Solomon Airlines Brisbane Cargo office before 5pm close of business on 2nd and 9th of December respectively, to ensure the required time for preparation and processing.
