Rennell Island, locally known as Mugaba, is the main island of two inhabited islands that make up the Rennell and Bellona Province in the Solomon Islands. Rennell is a World Heritage Site and home to the largest freshwater lake in the South Pacific, Lake Tengano. The lake is known as a natural wonder of the world, with dramatic coral cliffs cradling a fresh water lake and mature rainforest blanketing about 99% of the island. Rennell is located south of Guadalcanal and a flight from Honiara to Rennell roughly takes 1 hour. There are basic homestay village and lodge accommodation based around the lake that offers guests a homely place to base themselves before planning activities with your host to explore the island.

Flights to Rennell depart from Honiara (60 minutes flight) and Bellona (20 minutes flight).
