Solomon Airlines plans October repatriation flights

With Solomon Islands Government approval and subject to regulatory approval from the relevant foreign Governments, Solomon Airlines will operate a further series of repatriation flights 25th, 26th, and 27th October, between Australia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

The flights will be available only to Solomon Islands citizens, and foreign nationals who have Prime Minister’s office approval. All passengers regardless of their nationality or status will and must undergo strict testing and quarantine protocols prior to and after arrival in the Solomon Islands.

On Sunday 25th October Solomon Airlines A320 aircraft will operate a special charter flight from Brisbane to Auckland to Honiara. This flight is not available for public sale and strictly for approved passengers as advised by the Solomon Islands Government. Those seeking to travel on this service are advised to contact their nearest Solomon Islands Government Consulate or Mission regarding this approval. All passengers who are eligible to travel will be informed accordingly. At least two negative COVID-19 test results will be required prior to boarding and passengers will enter mandatory quarantine on arrival for minimum 14 days in line with Government requirements.

On Monday 26th October Flight IE623 will operate from Solomon Islands to Manila via Biak, Indonesia. The flight will depart Honiara at 10.00am, arriving in Biak at 11.50am. Flight IE623 will then depart Biak at 12.50pm arriving in Manila at 3.10pm. The aircraft will stop briefly in Biak in both directions to refuel, and allow Honiara to Biak passengers only to disembark. No one will be permitted to board the aircraft and all crew and other passengers will remain onboard.

The return flight from Manila will operate on Tuesday 27th October.  Flight IE624 will depart Manila at 6.00am arriving in Biak at 10.15am.  Flight IE624 will then depart Biak at 11.15am, arriving in Honiara at 5.00pm. All incoming passengers will need to be provide three negative COVID-19 tests in the 21 days prior to boarding and will enter mandatory quarantine for 21 days.

Bookings on the services between Honiara and Biak or Manila are possible via the Solomon Airlines Sales Offices in Point Cruz or in Brisbane, via phone or email.

All Solomon Airlines repatriation flights comply with the COVID-19 regulations and requirements of the relevant countries. Solomon Airlines crews wear facemasks and gloves for duration of service and catering is minimal to reduce contact between passengers and crew.
