Posted on February 09, 2024 at 08:00 AM in General News

  • Multi-currency function now available on www.flysolomons.com
  • See prices and book flights now in SBD and 19 other currencies

Solomon Airlines continues to upgrade the airline’s website, making the process of searching and booking flights clearer and easier for holiday and business travellers, and travel agents booking flights online.

“The latest enhancement to our website is a behind-the scenes digital upgrade which went live this week, making an improvement that many of our customers have wanted for some time,” said Solomon Airlines CEO Napoleon Padabela.

“It is a seemingly small, but very important change, making it possible for customers in Solomon Islands and all around the world, who book with debit or credit cards, to now see fares and pay for their flights in Solomon Islands Dollars (SBD) or their preferred of 19 other currencies,” he explained.

Mr Padabela said the multi-currency capability is another example of continuous improvement to customer experience.  He confirmed that within an hour of the function going live, customers had already booked flights in SBD, USD, NZD, PHP in addition to AUD which was available prior to the change.

“Recently we launched Solomon Airlines Strategic Plan and within that document one of our very clear objectives is to focus on improving digital capability at the national carrier.

“This change is the first of a number of digital improvements we are working on, to ensure that bookings and communications with Solomon Airlines are easier for our customers,” he said.

When booking with Solomon Airlines, the national carrier’s website will automatically present airfare search results in the currency of the country the customer is accessing the website from.

Customers also have the option to change the currency, by selecting their preferred currency from a drop down box on the website homepage before they search.
