Solomon Airlines appoints Airline Marketing Australia

Solomon Airlines has confirmed the appointment of Airline Marketing Australia Pty. Ltd, (AMA) to represent the Solomon Islands national carrier in Australia, overseeing all travel agency and travel trade relationships.

Effective immediately, AMA will represent Solomon Airlines in both Australia and New Zealand, where the company has been the airline’s long term representative.

“The Airline Marketing team has been a very good partner for us over a long period of time In New Zealand and we are pleased to expand that relationship to Australia,” said Solomon Airlines CEO Mr Gus Kraus.

“As we continue to rebuild our airline operations and the development of tourism to Solomon Islands, we know we are in good hands, especially in this very important year,” he said. 

Solomon Islands will welcome over 5,000 international visitors for the 2023 Pacific Games which commence from 19 November to 2 December, including athletes, officials and support staff from 24 countries and spectators from throughout the Pacific region.

“SOL2023 is a very significant opportunity, that will elevate consumer and industry awareness of the Solomon Islands as a tourism and travel destination,” Mr Kraus said.

“The appointment of AMA as an extension of our own team, will ensure we are equipped to handle that level of interest, and to support the travel trade in our two largest offshore markets.” he added.

Solomon Airlines is a Presenting Sponsor for SOL2023, providing SBD $5 million value of air travel, air freight and promotional content via its owned media channels, to underpin logistics and promotion of the 17th Pacific Games. This will be the second time Solomon Islands has hosted such a major sporting event since the Mini Pacific Games held in Honiara in 1981.

General Manager of AMA Mr Lazar Lazar agreed:  “We are truly excited to expand our representation for Solomon Airlines at a time when both the airline and the Solomon Islands as a unique tourism destination, are commencing a period of great opportunity,” he said.

“We will certainly do our part to both educate and support the trade  to ensure the best outcomes – new travel opportunities for customers, new business opportunities for our trade partners and a trajectory of growth for national carrier Solomon Airlines and for tourism to the Solomon Islands.”
