Isabel is made up of one island located to the northwest of Guadalcanal; the province's capital is surrounded by forests, coconut plantations and mountain villages. Also known as Santa Isabel - this island is the longest land mass in the Solomons - measuring 200km long.

Here, you can experience traditional dance, guided bush walks, traditional villages - including one built on stilts, and a breeding site for the endangered Hawksbill turles. The province is also famous for its unique dance for women, the vanishing lake, numerous skull shines, bird and crocodile watching, kayaking, and panpipe concerts.

The Melanesian people in Isabel are relaxed, friendly and peace loving - they are divided into about six language groups. The villages are traditional with beautifully kept leaf houses and gardens.
